Helping sporting communities access life-saving AED equipment

NSW Office of Sport AED Grant Program 2025 now open

This program provides a valuable opportunity for sporting clubs and recreational organisations across NSW to access funding for automated external defibrillators (AEDs). These life-saving devices can make all the difference in a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.

Eligible sporting clubs and associations can access up to $3,000 in funding to purchase an AED. Funding is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Be Prepared

First Aid Tip

Sudden cardiac arrest is a major and under-recognised cause of death in people under 50

Cardiac arrest can strike any club, at any time

It is not just an issue for older people. Athletes, coaches, and spectators of all ages have collapsed suddenly on the field or on the sidelines.

For sports clubs, this reality is a confronting one: the risk is present at every training session and every game.

An AED is the difference between life and loss

Sudden cardiac arrest is almost always fatal without help. Only 7% of people survive to hospital discharge.

With immediate CPR and an AED used within 3 minutes, survival can soar to 70%. To respond that quickly, your AED needs to be nearby and ready for use.
