5 hours plus mandatory pre-work.

Prerequisites

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a prerequisite for this course. Students who do not have this unit of competency will be required to undertake HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation prior to commencing UETDRRF004 Perform rescue from a live LV panel.

Participants enrolled in this course must visit cpr.stjohn.org.au to access the online program, which is to be completed prior to the scheduled face-to-face workshop.


Certification

On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment in:

  • UETDRRF004 Perform rescue from a live LV panel
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

The SafeWork Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace and the Australian Resuscitation Council recommend that first aid skills are renewed every three years, and resuscitation skills (HLTAID009/HLTAID0015) are renewed every 12 months. Please also refer to specific industry standards and guidelines


Assessment Methods

We use a range of different methods to assess you, including written assessments and practical activities.
 
You must be able to perform CPR on the floor for 2 minutes on a manikin. You may need to pair up with another student to complete the practical exercises.
