On 30 July, St John had the pleasure of attending the Annual Ku-ring-gai Council Sports Forum, where local sporting club leaders gathered to hear updates on strategic planning, field policies, and project progress.
This was an amazing opportunity to share vital insights on sudden cardiac arrest, the importance of AEDs in the chain of survival, and launching the Bendigo Bank Community Grant Defib Project—introducing the AED Point website.
The Lindfield Community Bendigo Bank Birthday Grant is funded to deliver:
- 10 Public Access Defibrillators (PADs)
- 10 onsite training CPR Courses
- Marketing materials to promote
- Co-branded assets with Bendigo Bank
- Registration of the AED with GoodSAM
The launch of this grant project will make a big difference in the Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby LGA, with more accessible defibs and first aid education with community consultation.
There was discussion and questions from the crowd on the importance of access to AEDs and the lack of mandatory access, and the audience was well-engaged and aligned with the efforts to improve the amount of publicly accessible defibs in the Ku-ring-gai council area.
