How We Help

AED Point

PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLATORS

Make life-saving defibrillators easier to reach in your neighbourhood by becoming an AED Point.

Be the point where help happens.

Join a growing network of life-saving AED Points across Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai.

Saving lives shouldn’t begin only when emergency services arrive. At St John NSW, we believe stronger communities are built when life-saving tools like AEDs are within reach – and when everyday people feel confident to use them.

That’s why, with the support of Bendigo Bank, we’re installing 10 public defibrillators across Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai, placing them where they’ll have the biggest impact.

Together with Bendigo Bank Lindfield, we’re helping build a safer, more prepared neighbourhood, one AED at a time.

30,000 Australians every year

Each year, nearly 30,000 Australians suffer sudden cardiac arrest, often without warning. That’s more than 80 people a day.

80% happen at home

Nearly 80% of sudden cardiac arrests happen at home and 15% in public places. The life you save could be a loved one, friend or neighbour.

70% increase in survival

Early CPR and a defib can boost survival from sudden cardiac arrest to around 70%. Without quick action, chances drop to just 1 in 10.

AEDs turn bystanders
into Lifesavers

"Bystander action can mean the difference between life and death, especially when AEDs are made rapidly accessible to the public in high traffic areas."
