Learner Driver First Aid

St John Ambulance provides free online training designed to equip learner drivers and bystanders with basic first aid knowledge and the confidence to assist in the case that they are the first on scene at a road accident.

The Importance of Learner Driver First Aid

Basic first aid knowledge and skills can be the difference between life and death.

Driver First Aid is a free St John Ambulance Australia online awareness course, which will help the next generation of drivers to learn the skills needed to help someone in the event of an accident.

Every year on our roads

around 1,200 Australians are killed and 44,000 are seriously injured.

The course takes approximately 30–45 minutes to complete. Participants will be issued with a certificate once they have completed the course. Please note is not a formal first aid certification.

Basic First Aid Interventions in the crucial minutes after a crash or roadside incident, such as keeping an airway open, stopping a bleed, or applying an Automated External Defibrillator can save a life or prevent further injury.
