On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment in:

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

The Safework Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace and the Australian Resuscitation Council recommend that First Aid skills are renewed every three years, and resuscitation skills (HLTAID009/HLTAID0015) are renewed every 12 months. Please also refer to specific industry standards and guidelines.

The DRSABCD action plan and responding to emergency situations
Managing unconscious casualties
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Using a defibrillator (AED)
Legal issues in First Aid

Anaphylaxis
Wound and bleeding management

Head and facial injuries

Duration

4.75 hour online course plus mandatory pre-work.

Pre-Requisites

Pre-work is required.

If online mandatory pre-assessment is not completed prior to the course date, students will not be permitted to enter the class and will not receive certification.

In addition to the training kit you will receive in the post, all students will need to have a personal computer or tablet, reliable internet connection and secondary device to participate in this online course.

Assessment Methods

Students are required to perform assessment tasks on another person, who acts as the ‘mock casualty’. Students need to arrange a second person to join them for 1hr 15 mins in the second half of the class.

Does this course include CPR?

Yes, on completion, you will become proficient in providing CPR.

How does it work?

1. Book your course online 2. We’ll send you a training pack 3. Complete your eLearning using our immersive video content 4. Log onto your First Aid Zoom class 5. Participants will receive their Statement of Attainment upon the completion of the course, all fees are paid and there is a validated USI on file.

What equipment will I need?

All participants will receive a brand new training kit including a trainer EpiPen, bandages, placebo inhaler and mannikin, which can be kept for ongoing practice. In addition, you will need: - A personal computer or tablet (with webcam and microphone) - Reliable internet - A secondary device, like a smart phone, for part of the assessment

When will I receive my Statement of Attainment?

Students will receive their Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of course, once their fees are paid and there is validated USI on file. St John aims to have certificates issued within 48 hours of your training, however, it may take 7-10 days depending on the location of your training.
