The 2025 St John NSW Annual Awards Ceremony was a proud and memorable moment for our organisation, bringing together volunteers, cadets, staff and distinguished guests to honour the extraordinary service that defines St John. Held on 16 November at the Michael Egan Graduation Hall at Macquarie University, the ceremony once again highlighted the strength, dedication and compassion of our members across the state.
We were honoured to welcome Her Excellency The Honourable Margaret Beazley AC DStJ KC, Governor of New South Wales and Deputy Prior of St John Ambulance Australia, who presented this year’s awards. Her presence underscored the significance of the occasion and the respect held for the service of our members within both St John and the wider community.
The hall filled with a sea of polished uniforms – summer ceremonial dress, operational attire with medals, and formal ceremonial uniforms worn by senior officers. Each member presenting themselves with pride and professionalism.
As the ceremony commenced, attendees were taken through stories of outstanding service, leadership, and community commitment. Volunteers who had responded tirelessly during emergencies, cadets demonstrating remarkable promise, staff members who had gone above and beyond, and courageous community members all took their place on stage to be formally recognised. For many, it was a moment years in the making; for others, the beginning of continued service to come.
The afternoon tea which followed was filled with warmth and camaraderie as members, families and guests shared stories and celebrated together.
As we reflect on this year, we acknowledge the immense contributions of every member, as well as supporters in the broader community, who empower St John NSW to provide care across the state. The Annual Awards Ceremony stands not only as a celebration of individual achievement, but also as a reminder of the remarkable impact when we come together in service of others.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all awardees and our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, supported, or assisted in making the ceremony a great success. We look forward to continuing this proud tradition in 2026 as we recognise the next chapter of outstanding dedication and service St John NSW brings.
