What an incredible 12 days at the 2026 Sydney Royal Easter Show! Once again, our volunteers showed up to demonstrate why we are the trusted name in event health services, delivering outstanding care to more than 800,000 showgoers across one of the state’s most popular annual events.
This year, almost 550 of our dedicated volunteers came together to staff a comprehensive network of services across the showgrounds including a fully equipped medical centre, five medical posts, Medicab Transport Teams, Mobile Emergency Response Teams (MERT), the Bicycle Emergency Response Team (BERT), as well as logistics, administration, member welfare, communications, and command functions. Together, they contributed an extraordinary 13,155 hours of service, a remarkable achievement and a reflection of the commitment our members bring to every event.
Over the course of the show, our clinical teams treated 1,062 patients, managing everything from minor ailments and injuries to more complex urgent medical cases. A total of 48 patients required ambulance transfer following initial stabilisation and treatment by our teams at the showground, a testament to the skills and capabilities we bring to major events relieving pressure from the health system.
Events like the Sydney Royal Easter Show remind us of the vital role our volunteers and staff play in the community. The scale of this deployment and the professionalism that was on show throughout the entire event is something that each member involved should be genuinely proud of.
A heartfelt thank you to each and every person who gave their time, skills, and energy this year. See you in 2027!
